Pickin’ in the Kitchen: Christmas Special!

Alright, y’all asked for it and we couldn’t be happier with our Christmas episode of Pickin’ in the Kitchen! These past couple weeks have been crazy with getting ready for Christmas, teaching lessons, shopping in between, among other projects, but we’ve just been so blessed by the Lord and we’re so thankful for everything we can see Him doing in our lives.

We hope you’ll take time this weekend to reflect and think deeply about what Christmas truly means. The God of the universe loved YOU so much, and He knew the only way you could be saved from your sins was for someone else to die in your place and take what you deserved. What I deserved. What Daniel deserved. So He sent His Son Jesus, not as a mighty king or ruler, but as a helpless baby, born of a virgin in the most humble of places, to show you just how much He wants to be with you and to be your Savior. We hope you know that in your heart and soul, and we love you all so much!!!

We love going to Christmas Eve Service. Everything about Christmas is our favorite thing, and being in the Lord’s house makes it that much more special. This year may be a little different, but we hope these little treats will remind you of being in church at Christmas, and that the sweetness and richness reminds you of the sweetest and richest kind of love… God’s agapé love in sending His Son! Please enjoy this sweet recipe with your families, and let us know in the comments how you like them!

Ingredients:

1 pack semi sweet chocolate morsels

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter

1-1/2 packs pastel marshmallows

powdered sugar

wax paper

Instructions:

Melt butter and chocolate morsels together in a medium pot on medium-low heat. Keep stirring or it will burn and stick to the bottom of your pot!

Cool slightly, all while still stirring. If the chocolate is too hot, the marshmallows will melt.

Add marshmallows and make sure they’re all evenly coated in chocolate.

Dust 3 good size sheets of wax paper with a little powdered sugar.

Divide the marshmallow chocolate mixture evenly onto the wax paper sheets.

Roll your chocolate yumminess into logs and twist the ends lightly.
Freeze for a couple hours or until solid.
Unwrap and cut into slices of your choice of thickness (we usually do 1/4-1/2 an inch).

ENJOY!!!

Merry Christmas, friends. ❤️

SEE YOU IN 2021!!!
